What changes

This page features information regarding applications and services used by the university and whether they support name of use, pronouns, and/or gender/gender identity.

Key

  • Application/Service - The name of the application or service.
  • Name of Use - If yes, the application or service displays an individual's chosen name. If no, then the application or service displays an individual's legal name.
  • Pronouns - If yes, the application or service displays an individual's pronouns. Otherwise, the application or service has no display for this category.
  • Gender/Gender Identity - If yes, the application or service displays an individual’s gender/gender identity. If no, then the application or service displays the individual's legal sex. (VCU uses the terms gender and gender identity synonymously and acknowledges that it may differ from legal sex.)
  • Affiliated Department - What department controls, manages, or runs the application or service.
  • N/A - The application or service does not provide any displays for the category.

VCU applications and services

After changing your name in eServices, it can take up to 48 hours for major systems to upgrade. Check that name of use has updated in the systems that apply to you.
